2. Nickel-Copper (Ni-Cu) Alloys: The most well-known nickel-copper alloy is Monel, which contains significant amounts of nickel, copper, and small additions of other elements like iron and manganese. Ni-Cu alloys are highly resistant to corrosion, particularly in seawater environments. They are used in marine applications, chemical plants, and oil refining.
3. Nickel-Iron (Ni-Fe) Alloys: Nickel-iron alloys, including Invar and Kovar, have excellent thermal expansion properties, low thermal expansion coefficients, and high magnetic permeability. These properties make them suitable for applications in precision instruments, electrical components, and magnetic shielding.
